Pros
  • Robust build quality
  • Good color reproduction
  • Nice soft bokeh at close distances
  • Close focusing feature
Cons

  • Heavy vignetting
  • Flaring and coma issues

The lens suffers from softer corners at wider apertures, heavy vignetting, and some flaring and coma issues.

The Brightin Star 11mm f/2.8 'Fisheye' lens is a robust and heavy manual focus lens designed for L-mount, RF neon, Zed, and Sony e-mount cameras. The build quality is impressive, with a metallic and chunky design, but it lacks weather sealing. The lens has a smooth and precise manual focusing ring, and the aperture ring turns smoothly. It comes with a built-in hood but does not support filters. The image performance is decent, with sharpness in the middle of the frame, softer corners, and visible color fringing. Vignetting is heavy, but the lens has a bonus feature of close focusing at 17 cm. It produces nice soft bokeh at close distances, but it shows flaring and coma issues. However, it does create big sunstars, and the color reproduction is good overall. Despite its drawbacks, it is a solid lens for the price.

Despite its drawbacks, the lens is a solid option for those looking for a budget fisheye lens with decent image performance.
