The Laowa Nanomorph anamorphic lenses are compact, affordable, and offer good image quality. They are not without flaws, but for the price, they are an impressive option for filmmakers.

I'm just really impressed how few compromises there are for size and especially for the price on these Laowa nanomorphs. They're not without flaws, but for the price, they're an impressive option.

Pros
  • Compact and affordable
  • Good image quality
  • Versatile compatibility with camera mounts
  • Minimal breathing
Cons
  • Prone to flaring
  • Loss of contrast and ghosting in direct light

The 1.5x squeeze factor allows for a unique ultra-widescreen aspect ratio, which can be particularly useful for certain types of filming.

The Laowa Nanomorph anamorphic lenses are a very affordable choice that still offer impressive image quality and functionality. The 1.5x squeeze factor allows for a unique ultra-widescreen aspect ratio, which can be particularly useful for certain types of filming. The compact size and compatibility with various camera mounts make them versatile and user-friendly. The lenses showcase good build quality for the price, with geared focus rings and a decent feel to the iris. While they may not be the sharpest lenses wide open, they offer a gradual improvement in sharpness as the aperture is stopped down, making them a great choice for 4k recording. Additionally, the lenses show minimal breathing, making them less distracting when focusing. However, they are prone to flaring, and there is a noticeable loss of contrast and ghosting when shooting into direct light, which may be a downside for some filmmakers.

The compact size and compatibility with various camera mounts make them versatile and user-friendly.
