The Laowa 28mm f/1.2 lens is a decent addition to the market, with some optical quirks. It performs well in certain situations but has some serious optical limitations.

I think the only way that you're going to enjoy using this lens is if you can incorporate those flaws into your photography. This could be an awesome lens for night photography and street photography, but if you're looking for something that can do double duty as a decent landscape lens, I just don't think this is a good choice.

Pros
  • Smooth manual focus
  • Decent performance in night photography and street photography
  • Lightweight construction
Cons
  • Lacks sharpness
  • Smeary corners
  • Optical limitations

The Laowa 28mm f/1.2 lens has a smooth manual focus action but lacks connection to the camera for automatic lens corrections. The construction is lightweight and smooth, with the option of clickable or de-clickable aperture stops.
