The Canon RF 85mm f/1.2 'L' USM lens is a top-performing lens with outstanding image quality, smooth bokeh, and impressive build quality. The lens's enormous size almost looks comical when mounted on a mirrorless camera, but it boasts a metal body with weather sealing, and parts of the lens are well weather sealed too. While the lens is heavy, it features a rubberized focus ring and an electronic focus motor that works responsively, although it exhibits some focus breathing. The lens's image quality is spectacular, even at the widest aperture of f/1.2, with plenty of sharpness and contrast. Distortion is negligible, but there is some vignetting, especially at f/1.2. The lens's bokeh is reasonably smooth, and although there is some longitudinal chromatic aberration at f/1.2, it significantly improves at f/2. Overall, the Canon RF 85mm f/1.2 'L' USM lens offers outstanding image quality with great colors and contrast and an accurate autofocus system that makes it highly recommended for portrait photography, despite its high price.
