It still delivers gorgeous images and is great for 4K video work, but struggles on the toughest tests. It would benefit from a new version designed for mirrorless cameras.

The Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 'Art' Lens is a beloved lens with a happy history. It is designed for digital SLR with an aps-c sized sensor and available for Canon Mount, Nikon f-mount, and sigma sa. With the right adapter, it works well on aps-c cameras and has become an absolute lens for filmmaking. The lens has a beautiful build quality, is comfortable to hold, and has smooth, precise control rings. However, it is fairly heavy at 810 grams, and some may find it to be a bit bulky. In terms of image quality, it shows its age on the Canon EOS R7 with a 32.5-megapixel sensor, but it still delivers good sharpness and is excellent for 4K video work. However, it struggles on the toughest tests but still produces gorgeous images with plenty of bokeh. Overall, it has some limitations, especially on high-megapixel sensors, and would benefit from a new version designed for mirrorless cameras.

On Canon's 32.5-megapixel cameras, the lens really shows its age and struggles on the toughest tests, but it still delivers good sharpness and excellent 4K video work.
