The Canon RF 15-30mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM is a compact and lightweight lens with a solid build quality. The lens features a fairly maximum aperture starting at F4.5 and narrowing to 6.3 when zoomed in, which may not let in much light, but it does feature stabilization to help capture sharper pictures in low-light situations. The build quality feels solid for the price and the lens is compact and lightweight, making it suitable for landscape photography. The image quality is excellent on a full-frame camera, with sharpness and contrast being superb at F4.5, although corner quality is slightly softer. Image quality remains very sharp overall, providing good sharpness from corner to corner at various zoom levels. However, the lens does not perform as well on an APS-C camera, with some loss of sharpness and quality in the corners. Distortion and vignetting are noticeable at various zoom levels, but can be controlled with in-camera corrections. The lens also performs well against light, with minimal artifacts, and provides good bokeh for an ultra-wide lens.

Overall, the lens might not be perfect by any means, but for $550, it's great value for money and is capable of pretty excellent image quality.
