iRobot Roomba 690 Review

50

The iRobot Roomba 690 is a budget-friendly robot vacuum with decent cleaning capabilities and good battery life, but it lacks smart navigation and has low airflow.

It does the job and Roombas are built like they have excellent customer service and easy to find cheap.

Pros
  • Good battery life
  • Decent cleaning capabilities
  • Budget-friendly
Cons
  • Lacks smart navigation
  • Low airflow
  • Small dustbin capacity

The iRobot Roomba 690 is really not a great value in our opinion.

The iRobot Roomba 690 is a budget-friendly robot vacuum that is based on the old 650 design. It has been updated with Wi-Fi capability and an app, but it lacks smart navigation. The 690 has a random cleaning pattern, which is fairly efficient for a random bot, but it is far less efficient than higher-end models. The airflow on the 690 is quite low, which affects its overall performance. However, it does have decent cleaning mechanics, performing well on carpet pickup tests. The battery life of the 690 is impressive, outperforming the specified time by around 9 minutes. On the downside, the dustbin capacity is small and the navigation system is not as efficient as other models. The app provides basic functionality but lacks the mapping feature found in higher-end models. Overall, the iRobot Roomba 690 is a decent budget option, but may not be the best value compared to other models in the market.

The battery life of the 690 is impressive, outperforming the specified time by around 9 minutes.
