The MSI GE75 8RF gaming laptop comes with an Intel i7 CPU, NVIDIA GTX 1070 graphics, and 16GB of memory running in dual channel, making it a powerful gaming machine. The 17.3-inch 1080p 144Hz screen provides a good gaming experience, and the SteelSeries keyboard with per-key RGB backlighting is a standout feature, offering a great typing experience. The laptop's build quality is average due to the majority plastic, and it has some thermal issues during heavy CPU and GPU loads. Additionally, the battery life is not great, lasting only for around three and a half hours when watching YouTube videos and about 52 minutes while gaming.The laptop has a good selection of I/O ports, including Gigabit Ethernet, HDMI 2.0 output, USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-A and Type-C ports, and a standard 3.5mm headphone and microphone combo jack. The audio quality from the speakers is good, providing clear sound at high volumes. However, the laptop suffers from some thermal throttling issues, affecting CPU and GPU performance under load. This can be mitigated to some extent using under-volting and cooling solutions, but it is still a limitation of the device.In terms of gaming performance, the MSI GE75 8RF offers solid frame rates in a wide range of games, making it a good gaming laptop overall. However, the thermal and battery life issues do affect the overall experience. The combination of Intel i7 CPU and GTX 1070 graphics delivers good gaming performance, but the thermal limitations prevent the system from reaching its full potential.
