The manual focus ring is smooth and responsive, and it exhibits very little focus breathing. The autofocus system is accurate and quiet, although not especially fast. The lens has its own image stabilization, which performs reasonably well and helps to get sharp images at long telephoto lengths. The image quality is sharp in the middle, but the corner image quality is not consistent across different zoom lengths. The lens also exhibits barrel distortion and vignetting, but it can focus down to 50mm and has decent bokeh.
